Bill Wright
M.S.AC., DIPL. ACU. (NCCAOM)®, L.AC.
Bill is a licensed acupuncturist in New Jersey and is board-certified in acupuncture. He earned his master’s degree in acupuncture from the Tri-State College of Acupuncture in New York City, receiving training in three styles, including Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Acupuncture Physical Medicine (APM), and the style of Japanese master Kiiko Matsumoto (KM). His training also encompassed various adjunct modalities including electrical acupuncture, cupping, guasha, auriculotherapy, and amma and tuina bodywork.
His first experience with acupuncture came while serving in the US Army in South Korea, finding that it significantly reduced pain and recovery time following an operation. Since then, he has regularly turned to Chinese medicine both to treat injuries and health issues, as well as for health maintenance. The benefits he accrued from these treatments, together with his long-held interest in Asian philosophy and culture, prompted him to turn an avocation into a profession through the formal study of acupuncture, with the intention of nurturing the lives of the community around him.
Bill's undergraduate degree was in East Asian studies and political science, and he earned an MBA in finance from New York University. He worked for many years in global investment management, enjoying opportunities to live, work, and of course experience acupuncture around the world. When not studying the classics of our medicine, Bill enjoys life in Hoboken (and elsewhere) with his wife, Yuriko.
